The Yada Yada Prayer Group

Written By: Neta Jackson

This is the first in a series of 7 books featuring the Yada Yada Prayer Group.
Book 2 ~ The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Down
Book 3 ~ Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Real
Book 4 ~ The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Tough
Book 5 ~ The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Caught
Book 6 ~ The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Rolling
Book 7 (Series Conclusion) ~ The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Decked Out

What do an ex-con, mother of two, single mother, former drug addict, high school principal, a beauty salon owner, a college student, and a Messianic Jew have in common? Good question, but this is the cast of characters that Neta Jackson brings together in her Yada Yada Prayer Group series.

I'll be honest when I started reading this book I wasn't getting into it, and so I took books 2 & 3 which I had also checked out from the library back before I had a chance to finish this book. I think I will be checking them out again.

It took awhile for the characters to start to mesh together but by the end of the book I found myself easily attached to them all. Even if you are not a Christian, I think that you can find something about these books to suit you. They also touch deeply on the bonds that can be developed by women.

The Prayer Group meets at a Chicago Women's conference for Christians, and develops into something more because a tragedy strikes within the first 24 hours they know each other. I could relate a little to the conference portion having attended a Christian Educators Conference in Chicago myself in 2006...an amazing, albeit overwhelming experience. Yes, I was once a Director of Christian Education for my Methodist church...ironic for those who know me well, and know of my faith struggles.

Anyway I would give this book a thumbs up for sure.

Also available with the series is The Yada Yada Prayer Journal

One of the women in my office reads these and just raves about them. I'll have to pick them up.
